Make the most of your Sacred Valley VIP experience by coming prepared. Here’s what we recommend for a safe and comfortable journey:

Recommendations

• Start the day hydrated: The VIP tour visits six sites across a full day with an early 7:00am departure. Drink water before you leave the hotel and carry a water bottle throughout the day. Altitude increases dehydration rate even on moderate-activity days.
• Wear sun protection from the start: Bring sunscreen SPF 50+, a brimmed hat and sunglasses. UV radiation at 3,000–3,762m is significantly stronger than at sea level — even on cloudy days. The first stops at Chinchero and Moray are fully exposed with no shade.
• Dress in layers: The temperature range across the six sites is wide — Chinchero at 3,762m can be cold in the morning, while Ollantaytambo at 2,792m is noticeably warmer by afternoon. Bring a light fleece and a waterproof jacket and adjust throughout the day.
• Wear comfortable walking shoes: Ollantaytambo and Pisac involve climbing uneven Inca stone steps. Hiking boots or sturdy sneakers with good grip are essential. Avoid sandals, heels or flat-soled shoes at any of the archaeological sites.
• Bring cash in Peruvian Soles: For the Pisac artisan market, small toilet fees at some sites (1–2 soles) and any optional drinks or snacks. Some market stalls accept USD but exchange rates are less favorable than using Soles.
• Bring a camera with a charged battery: Moray’s circular geometry from above, the Maras pools at midday light and the Ollantaytambo fortress terraces are all outstanding photographic subjects. Bring a power bank for your phone if you shoot extensively.
• Advise dietary needs in advance: Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and other dietary requirements can be accommodated at the buffet lunch — let us know at the time of booking so we can advise the restaurant in advance.
• Allow time at Pisac market: The market is the last stop before returning to Cusco. If shopping is a priority, keep some energy and budget reserved for the end of the day. Your guide can point you to the best stalls for each type of craft.

Travel Tips:

• Altitude adjustment: If you’re new to high elevations, take it easy the first couple of days in Cusco. Drink plenty of water and avoid heavy meals or alcohol before the tour.
• Cultural respect: Always ask before taking photos of local people. A small tip is appreciated when photographing artisans.
• Stay with your guide: Sites can be busy—keep your group in view to avoid getting lost.
• Pack light: Bring only what you need in a small daypack. Larger bags may not be allowed at some sites.
• Be on time: Punctuality ensures you won’t miss any stops on the itinerary.

Payment and Booking Terms

• Reservations: Daily departures are guaranteed for bookings made at least 24 hours in advance. For last-minute bookings, please contact our office directly.
• Reservation Deposit: A deposit of 100% of the total package price is required to confirm your booking.
• Accepted Payment Methods: We accept PayPal, Wester Union, and credit/debit cards.
• Additional Fees:
  • PayPal payments are subject to an additional 8% processing fee.
  • Credit or debit card payments subject to an additionala 5% transaction fee.
  • Wester Union must be made in full, and all associated fees must be covered by the sender.
• Booking Confirmation: Your reservation will be confirmed once the deposit has been received and verified. A written confirmation will be sent via email.
• Modifications: Any changes to your booking must be requested at least 48 hours in advance. Changes are subject to availability and may incur additional costs.
• Cancellations: Cancellations made more than 24 hours before the tour date are eligible for a partial refund.
• No-show Policy: Failure to show up on the day of the tour will result in full charge without refund.
