Salkantay Trek to Machu Picchu, this hike offers you an impressive landscape and a great ecological biodiversity, the tour begins with a cold climate at 4200 meters above sea level and ends with a warm climate at 1800 meters above sea level.
We will visit the main tourist attractions of the snowy Salkantay, the Humantay Lake and the local villages.

Itinerary
Day: 01 CUSCO – MOLLEPATA – SORAYPAMPA
The day starts at 4:00 and 4:30 am, we will travel for 2 hours to Mollepata, which is located over 2900 meters above sea level, on the way we will enjoy extensive fields and agriculture.
We will enjoy lunch.
From here we will go in our private transportation for 1 hour to Challacancha at 3675 masl, where we prepare our luggage to start the 3-hour hike through Andean landscapes covered with thatch.
At midday, we will arrive at the camp located in Soraypampa at 3850 masl, where we will have a traditional lunch. After a short rest, in the afternoon we will start the ascent to the Humantay lagoon for 1 hour and 30 minutes, to enjoy the beautiful turquoise colors.
Then we will arrive at the camp after a 40-minute walk.
Day: 02 SORAYPAMPA – CHAULLAY
The day begins at 5:00 am with a delicious breakfast, then we will hike for 1 hour to Salkantaypampa (4100 masl), where we will take a break to continue to Soirococha (4400 masl), where we will take another short break to rehydrate. We will make a descent to the Salkantay pass, this is the highest point of the trek.
We will make a descent of 1 hour and a half to “Wayracmachay”, where we will have an Andean lunch and then rest to continue our journey.
In our hike, we will enjoy a change of climate to warmer until we arrive at Challhuay, which will be the place of our second camp, here we will have an exquisite dinner and rest until the next day.
Day: 03 CHAllHUAY – SAHUAYACO – SANTA TERESA
After breakfast, we will start our 5-hour hike to Sahuayaco, better known as “the beach”, because it is located near the Salkantay basin (2200 masl).
We will appreciate the beautiful tropical valleys, with fruit trees such as avocado, passion fruit, and cocoa, in the middle of the valley. Arriving at Sahuayaco, we will enjoy a nutritious lunch that will comfort us of the lost energies.
We will continue in our private transportation until we reach “Santa Teresa”, where we will set up our camp in the middle of beautiful vegetation, where we will spend the night until the next day.
Day: 04 SANTA TERESA – HIDROELÉCTRICA – AGUAS CALIENTES
After breakfast we will hike for 3 hours to the hydroelectric, we will walk in the middle of beautiful vegetation and white waterfalls, upon reaching the hydroelectric we will have lunch to recompose our energies and continue the journey to the town of Machu Picchu.
This hike will be surrounded by beautiful flora and fauna until we reach Machu Picchu village.
In Machu Picchu pueblo we will go to our hotels, we will enjoy our dinner where our guide will give us instructions for the tour to Machu Picchu the next day.
Day: 05 AGUAS CALIENTES – MACHU PICCHU – CUSCO
After 5 day salkantay trek to machu picchu, we will start this day, very early, we will have our breakfast at the hotel.
Then we will start the trip to Machu Picchu, we can hike to Machu Picchu (1 hour and a half ) or take the bus to Machu Picchu (40 minutes).
Arriving at Machu Picchu, we will enter with our guide, who will tell us the best of Machu Picchu for 2 hours; We will take beautiful photographs in every place that we can think of; then we will make a descent for approximately one hour to Machu Picchu Pueblo. And then wait for our train to Ollantaytambo where our private transport will be waiting for us until we Arrive Cusco.
