Itinerary

Day: 01 CUSCO - SANTA MARIA - SANTA TERESA (biking and rafting)

Our adventure begins at 6:30 a.m. with a hotel pickup and a scenic 90-minute drive through the breathtaking Sacred Valley, passing through the charming towns of Chinchero, Urubamba, and Ollantaytambo.

Upon arrival in Ollantaytambo, we’ll take a short 15-minute break before continuing to Abra Malaga (4,350 meters / 14,270 feet), where our thrilling cycling journey begins. Our experienced guides will prepare all the necessary safety gear and provide a detailed briefing to ensure a safe and enjoyable ride.

The mountain biking portion lasts about three hours, descending through the high jungle until we reach Wamanmarca, where we’ll take a short rest before boarding our transport to Santa Teresa for a delicious lunch. In the afternoon, you’ll have the option to experience exhilarating rafting on the Vilcanota River or relax in the soothing hot springs of Cocalmayo.

After a day full of adventure, we’ll settle in for a restful night to recharge for the exciting activities ahead.

Day: 02 SANTA TERESA – MACHU PICCHU PUEBLO – MACHU PICCHU (ZIP LINE - Hike)

Our adventure continues at 7:00 a.m. with a delicious breakfast to energize you for the day ahead. You’ll have the option to experience an exciting zipline adventure before we start our hike.

We’ll then embark on a scenic 3-hour hike through lush jungle terrain until we reach the hydroelectric plant, where you can take a well-deserved break and enjoy a hearty lunch. Afterward, we’ll continue hiking for another 3 hours alongside the train tracks, surrounded by dense vegetation, until we arrive at Machu Picchu Pueblo (Aguas Calientes).

Once there, we’ll check into our hotel and gather for the final dinner of the tour. During the evening, your guide will provide all the essential information and tips you’ll need for your upcoming visit to Machu Picchu.

Day: 03 MACHU PICCHU PUEBLO – MACHU PICCHU – CUSCO

Our day begins early at 4:30 a.m. with a hike to the entrance of the Historic Sanctuary of Machu Picchu, which takes approximately 2 hours.

Once inside, you’ll enjoy a guided tour of this magnificent Inca city, followed by free time to explore, take photos, and soak in the breathtaking views at your own pace.

Afterward, we return to Machu Picchu Pueblo (Aguas Calientes), where you’ll have some leisure time before boarding the train back to Ollantaytambo. Upon arrival, our private transportation will be waiting to take you back to your hotel in Cusco.

Optional Hikes at Machu Picchu

If you’ve planned to hike Huayna Picchu or Machu Picchu Mountain, you’ll have ample time to complete these excursions at your own pace before returning to Cusco.

Return to Cusco Options

  • By Train: This is the most comfortable option, following the same route back with plenty of time to enjoy Machu Picchu and your hikes.

  • By Bus: A faster option where time is more limited. If you choose this, you will need to complete your Huayna Picchu or Machu Picchu Mountain hike quickly to catch the 2:00 p.m. hike to the Hydroelectric Plant. From there, private transport will take you back to Cusco, approximately a 6-hour drive.
